Anne MANDORLA lives and works in Paris, France, where she is a painter and engraver. Educated at the School of Fine Arts (Beaux-Arts), she also earned a Degree in Art at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and a Master in Art History. Her paintings celebrate color and light ; the blend of powder pigments with acrylic medium adheres like a delicate peel on fine papers glued on linen canvas and set on a chassis. The theme’s inspiration draws from the roots of civilization’s founding myths. The artist stages sites, objects and ritual signs that convers the quest for the origins of thought. Born from architectonic structures, the vertical matrixes play together to dissimulate and reveal half-tangible forms between stele and linguam, between tool and human body. As an art historian, agnostic but humanist, Anne MANDORLA invites us to analyze the secret forces that link the human and the spiritual.

Her work is represented in Paris by several galleries in Saint-Germain-des-Pres and Montmartre. She has participate in International contemporary art fairs : ART EXPO in New York ; in Europe : ART PARIS, ART FORUM in Montreux (Switzerland), ESTAMPA in Madrid (Spain), ST’ART in Strasbourg (France) and many art exhibits (Salons) in Paris. Many press articles have dealt with her work.

Several technics of engraving on copper are used here. From each copper plaque, 1 , 15 , 25 or 30 prints maximum are produced. Each print is unique because of the addition of a special painted marking introduced at the moment of each pressing.
